This has gathered publicattention on the importance of maintaininglifelines in the event of disasters, and on towndevelopment based on local renewable energy.As the core institution of this project, TohokuUniversity launched the consortium on the"Next-generation Energies for Tohoku Recovery(NET)" in collaboration with universities and localgovernments stricken by the Great East JapanEarthquake. The NET will research and developnext generation energies and energymanagement systems tailored to local climatesand geographical features.環境エネルギープロジェクトとは環境エネルギープロジェクトでは、震災によりエネルギーの途絶を経験した被災地域に、従来的なインフラによらず独立して利用可能なもう一つのエネルギー地産地消ネットワークを構築することを目指しています。その実現のため、地域の再生可能エネルギーを開発すると同時に、オフグリッドで電力を配分し管理するためのシステムを開発しています。What is the Project forEnvironmental Energy ?The Project for Environmental Energy aims tocreate local energy production/consumptionnetworks, independent of conventionalinfrastructure, for disaster-affected areaswhere energy supply has been interruptedby the earthquake.
